Brace yourselves, the 60's and 70's are comin' back! Without a doubt, one cannot deny that designers have refurbished the hippie vibe.
From incorporating bell-bottom jeans to mod-theme colors, to groovy patterns and suede fabrics, the 'flower-child' aesthetic has been reborn. And lets be honest, that Hawaiian cheesecake to the right coincides perfectly with the modern hippie. Just look at the maroon shade of red! And that mustard yellow and that lime green! The blending of those colors creates a pattern that just screams grooviness! Heck, I'd even hang up that plate in my apartment. It truly is a work of art.
With all the mod-hippieness this season, I had a tough time finding the perfect outfits for this cake... But, I finally narrowed it down to these two classic pieces:
Look Left is #3 from the M Missoni Pre-Fall 2015 Collection. The whole feel and image corresponds to perfection... Where do I even begin?! The skirt is where the cheesecake magic happens. The pattern is a similar blend to the jelly sweetness on the Hawaiian cheesecake. The yellow tights worn on the model's long legs bring the eye down to those red chunky loafers. The brightness of the tights harmonizes with the yellow marmalade of the cheesecake, just as the red loafers correspond with the deep red jelly sauce ending on the plate.
Look Right is also a third look but not from the same collection. This look is from the Red Valentino Pre-Fall 2015 Collection. When can you ever go wrong with Valentino?? (Never.) Especially with this cheesecake! Look Right compliments look left with it's mod silhouettes and colors. It's neat and nifty and fun and groovy at the same time~ The Valentino look also is reppin' the missing green jelly sauce that the M Missoni look doesn't have. The collar (I will never turn down a collared piece) of Red Valentino's look pulls in the maroon red of the cheesecake's jelly. The bag handle and Mary Jane pumps draws in the red as well. Let's not forget the crust! The creme colored soles of the pumps mirror the creamy cheesecake color. Mmmm crust! That's always my fave part :)

This collection has a more of a contemporary feel to it with its intricate details, lace, and fine fabrics. There is still an overall 60's appearance with the "dolly-bird" dress and the pop-art designs that contrast both bright and dull colors.
