NYFW Cheesecake-matching Series | 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2016 RTW

Starting my NYFW Cheesecake-matching series with the 3.1 Phillip Lim's 2016 Fall RTW collection for oh so many reasons.

So just to name a few:
1. “Lady bosses running through the streets of Shinjuku in Tokyo”... uhm how striking is that?? This is what Lim said he envisioned for this collection and of course he executed that vision in such a natural way... like that this vision only EFFORTLESSLY PERFECTLY CLEARLY MAKES ALL THE SENSE with each and every piece. That's how good Phillip Lim does it. He takes complexity and makes it work effortlessly--like it's only meant to be.

2. I love the green tunics going on (side note: in the movie A Knight's Tale, Heath Ledger wears a similar color green tunic in this Renaissance dance scene & I love it. K.). Regards, that piece, in that color, is just super sweet.

3. He crosses feminine and masculine, comfort and style, sporty and chic... and even more he made his collection on the trans-seasonal side. Like I could totes where these pieces during any time of the year mixin' & matchin'.

Trans-seasonal: "where summer and winter clothes are in constant conversation," said by Chioma Nnadi on vogue.com. Love that and I totes feel that throughout Lim's collection this year.

Hand clap emojis all around. This Blood Orange No Bake Cheesecake from Vikalinka, and 3.1 Phillip Lim RTW look are truly and utterly TOO. PERF togethz. I know I say it all the time, but it just is.

The blood red orange tinges obv match the orange turt neck and burnt red suede patches on each side of the skirt. The dark chocolate ganache spread gives a great smooth leather feel resembling the skirt and crop tank. Even the light tan/beige crust almost matches the caramel brown leather looking booties perfectly. And if you look close enough, the white creamy vanilla bean cheesecake filling even be matching the stitches of the suede patches....  DONE.

As for this 2nd 3.1 Phillip Lim look, this Almond Walnut Matcha Cheesecake from Sophia's House was a perfectly delish match (you know how I be about that matcha madness). The matcha green matches the green shade of the top and the chocolate spread brings out the top's black cuffs, booties and sunglasses. Now when it comes to the almonds, I can't tell if the almond color is within the plaid-like pattern of the top (ya feel?), but if not it's still a great complimentary color to the look.

More NYFW cheesecake-matching of my fave collections this year coming up next week!
So get readz for more mad yumzness coming your way.
